Biography :
Andrew (Andy) Hancock is Co-Deputy Head of Institute for Education, Teaching and Leadership at the University of Edinburgh. He organises the MEd programme Additional Support for Learning (Bilingual Learners) and Co-Director of the Centre for Education for Racial Equality in Scotland (CERES). He is Course Organizer of the Postgraduate Diploma in Education (Upper Primary Stage)and contributes to the Language and Literacy strands of the Initial Teacher Education (ITE) programmes. The primary focus of his research interests is literacy practices in multilingual schools and communities. His latest book (edited with Xiaolan Curdt-Christiansen) is Learning Chinese in Diasporic Communities: Many Pathways to Being Chinese.
